The financial power of the county is placed in the County Council which serves as a check on the Board of County Commissioners. Councilpersons are elected from four council districts and three at large, making a total of seven. The term is four years.
The County Council is charged with the responsibility of appropriating all funds for use by the county and all of its officers. It has the exclusive power for fixing the rate of taxation for county purposes, fixing salaries of county employees, and adoption of the annual budget.
The Pulaski County Council meets the second Monday of each month, when needed, in the Auditor's office in the Court House beginning at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.
