The County Auditor is an elected official serving a four-year term but no more than two consecutive terms.

The Auditor serves as secretary of the Board of County Commissioners and of the County Council. She is the general bookkeeper of the county maintaining the accounts and the issuance of warrants for the payment of claims allowed by the county Commissioners.

It is the responsibility of the Auditor to prepare the annual tax duplicate showing value of property and taxes assessed each taxpayer. The Auditor prepares plans of each civil township in the county subdivided to show ownership and assessed valuation of each parcel.
