Pulaski County Housing Needs Assessment Report

is complete and available for viewing

After a year of data gathering, interviews, site reconnaissance, and public hearings the first county housing needs assessment is complete.  The purpose of this work can be summed up from the words in the report''s introduction.

"The Housing Needs Assessment was initiated to gain a better understanding

of Pulaski County's housing issues.....to assess and survey not only housing

conditions and problems, but also to examine the larger community. .....this

report explores the general population including age, racial composition,

          disability  issues,income, poverty and employment.

.....examined the greater Pulaski County community in terms of history,

geography, quality of life, business and economic development.

.....It takes all segments of the community working together to guide the

community to a better quality of life.  This report, with its aggregate data,

analysis and recommend-ations, strives for that same goal."

To continue the work of this project the Pulaski County Community Development Commission will establish a permanent housing committee to address the report's Action Plan beginning on report page 90.  Public input and involvement is sought and encouraged.

This report is of interest to all segments of the population, both within and outside of Pulaski County.  The entire 118 page document is now available in PDF format.  To access click:
