With plenty of nice weather ahead and the kids out of school for the summer, look to Pulaski County activities to fill your days with fun and enjoyment.
Summer holds a variety of fun and activities at the local and beautiful Winamac Town Park. Nestled between the horseshoe bend of the Tippecanoe River, the park is home to many summer activities including soccer, T-ball, baseball and softball and volleyball. The park also offers a swinging foot bridge connecting the park to downtown Winamac. Also offered is a walking path through the park and along the river, picnic benches and shelters, playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, horseshoe pits and a boat launch. Bring your boat or rent from a local source.
The Winamac town pool at the Pulaski County Y is available cool off during the hot days of summer. Check out this website http://www.pulaskiymca.com/ for hours and further information.
Daytrips could include:
- Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area north of Medaryville and just west of State Road 421. Activities here range from birdwatching, fishing, hunting, target ranges to seeing the flocks of sandhill cranes landing and taking off during season. - Winamac Fish and Wildlife Area north of Winamac provides habitat for wildlife in the county. Nature study, birdwatching, mushroom hunting, berry picking, fishing and hunting are all permitted here. - Francesville also offers its town park with picnic shelter, playground, basketball and tennis courts, baseball diamond and a walking path. Bring a picnic and friends and have a fun afternoon. Monterey also provides a town park providing a picnic shelter, tables and playground.
- Star City, south of Winamac on SR 35, provides a town park with playground, picnic area and community center.

Monterey, at the north east side of the county, provides Monterey Days during the Labor Day weekend Aug 31-Sept 3rd. Many activities are offered along with a parade. Contact 574-542-2455 for information.
For outdoor activities and camping consider:

- BrokenArrow Campgrounds which provides camping, swimming pool and activities. - Hoosier Hideaway – Lake Bruce. This fishing lake is found on the east of the county, divided by the Pulaski – Fulton County line. Contact 574-653-2017 for details.
Pulaski County offers two fine golf courses:
Moss Creek Golf Course located southwest of Winamac provides 18 holes of entertainment. Call 574-595-3142 for tee times and more information on its facility.

Saturday night racing fun is available at Shady Hills Speedway on the west side of the county. Call 219-843-8892 for dates and directions.
